Galawezh Saeed Legal Fellowship

Join SEED’s Legal Team – Empower Survivors, Defend Rights, and Make a Difference!

Are you a law graduate who is passionate about advancing your career in human rights? Apply for a fully paid, one-year legal fellowship today! Put your legal knowledge into practice, gain new lawyering skills, and directly support clients with SEED’s experienced lawyers.

The Galawezh Saeed Legal Fellowship Program was established to provide young legal professionals with an opportunity to kick-start their careers in human rights by building their capacity to provide quality legal services, learn new skills, techniques and survivor-centric approaches, and become strong advocates for the protection of rights for the most vulnerable; under the mentorship of SEED’s experienced team of lawyers and legal advisors.

Galawezh Saeed was the first female judge appointed by the Kurdistan Region in 2001. Mrs. Saeed dedicated her life advocating for human rights and women rights in the region. We named this legal fellowship in her honor because her legacy has inspired many women to pursue careers in law and public service. She exemplifies the importance of gender equity across all sectors of society.

This opportunity allows new graduates to bring their perspectives and theoretical legal knowledge into the daily practices and improve their experience through capacity-building opportunities and direct work on cases. Applicants must be based or able to travel to Sulaimani, and will compete with other graduates across Kurdistan for one position.
