SEED President Kraham Talabany Discusses the Challenges Facing Survivors of ISIS with Al-Monitor

SEED Foundation President and Executive Director, Sherri Kraham Talabany, spoke with Al-Monitor’s Amberin Zaman during a podcast posted on March 16, 2021, about SEED’s work with survivors of ISIS and the challenges that they face reintegrating into their communities.

Kraham Talabany stressed the need for a national framework to support the needs of former child soldiers and the importance of fully implementing Iraq’s new Yezidi Female Survivors Law, passed on March 1, 2021, mandating reparations for survivors of sexual violence perpetrated by ISIS.

Kraham Talabany also touched on SEED’s support for survivors of gender-based violence (GBV), sexual exploitation, harassment, and abuse, as well as efforts to raise awareness of these issues in Kurdistan. Listen to the interview here!
